This third edition of the Literary and Cultural Heritage Maps of Pennsylvania expands a project that began in 2000 as the first digital literary map to replace the 1959 paper map created by Pennsylvania English teachers. The current edition presents five geospatial maps featuring short biographies and selected feature articles.

Together, these maps provide multiple ways to explore the social and historical context of Pennsylvania’s literary and cultural life. Many entries were written by Penn State students and local contributors. The maps are designed to support Pennsylvania and national Core curriculum standards when used with accompanying lesson plans.
